After their 2016 movie Always Be My Maybe, Gerald Anderson and Arci Munoz are back with the upcoming Star Cinema offering titled Can We Still Be Friends?

During their photo shoot on Thursday, May 18, both expressed their excitement over their reunion project. The movie mainly aims to answer if it is really possible for exes to become friends again.

According to Arci, she can relate very well to the concept of the movie. “I think it’s my love story. Parang feeling ko talaga sinulat nila ito… Parang nagresearch sila… Lahat talaga… As in detalyado talaga. Sabi ko, ‘Direk, inii-stalk mo ba ako?” she said, to which Gerald agreed.

Talking about the title, she added, “Kaya mo bang maging kaibigan ‘yung ex mo kapag naghiwalay kayo? It’s either love mo pa siya o never mo siyang minahal.”

Left speechless when she was asked the question back, Arci said, “Hindi ko pa alam eh. Kasi hindi ko pa siya nakikita after the breakup,” seemingly referring to her ex-boyfriend Badi Del Rosario. They broke up last January.

She then admitted that she also asked herself the same thing and thought that she cannot do it yet, “lalo na kapag may feelings ka pa.”

“Pero kasi ito sa story kasi natin, ‘yung girl, ako naman ‘yung sumuko, parang napagod,” she went on to describe the movie’s plot.

Meanwhile, Gerald also admitted that he was able to relate to this movie.

So I guess totoo din ‘yung actions speak louder than words,” Gerald said, adding that he went through the same journey.

But what does he think of being friends with a former flame again?

Tapos magiging kaibigan mo bigla. Hindi ako naniniwala diyan.

“Pero ‘nung ginagawa ko ‘yung project na ginagawa ko ngayon sa TV (Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin with Kim Chiu) tapos shinu-shoot ko ‘tong movie, sabi ko, ‘Oo nga no?’ Parang okay.
