Yun nga lang yung responsibilities kasi of an adult I don’t know if I’m ready for that already. Pero I guess after ko mag-birthday mukhang okay na naman na ako so yun lang yung naiisip ko pero happy naman ako,” he told PUSH.

The Langit Lupa actor said he was also excited to finally be able to drive on his own. “Marami ng privileges na mag-o-open pa lalo for me like driver’s license and kahit ano pang meron diyan na puwedeng makuha ko and happy ako. I already drive naman kasi meron kasi akong student permit tapos ayun, yun lang yung gamit ko. Actually nag-da-drive na ako for two years with that permit kasama ko lang yung mom ko palagi kasi kailangan may professional driver’s license. Pero ngayon sakto nung nag-expire I can apply na kasi wala din ako driver lately so kailangan ko talaga i-renew. So na-renew ko agad, kumuha ako agad ng non-pro na driver’s license.,” he added.

Aside from acting, Jairus said he has also enjoyed being a MYX VJ since last year. “Nandun ako sa point na siyempre madami pa akong kailangan matutunan, marami pa akong kailangan ma-experience before I can say na okay ako mag-VJ di ba? Actually hindi ako ang makakapag-sabi nun sa totoo lang, siyempre yung mga taong nakakapanuod sa akin dapat yun. Pero nararamdaman ko yun na so far okay naman ako pero madami pang room for improvement and lessons. Pero for me I’m getting there. Hindi ko alam sa mga tao kung kumusta ba ako sa kanila pero I hope okay kasi I love my job. I love being a VJ. it’s something different from acting talaga eh,” he shared.

As an actor, Jairus admitted that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Kapamilya heartthrobs Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz. “Siguro I’ll go for anything kasi right now ang nasa isip ko maging mahusay sa kung anong meron ako ngayon and ma-improve ko yung kung anong puwede ko gawin. Siguro when it comes to acting I’ll go with everything talaga. Kung anong dumating tatanggapin ko. Gusto kong maging John Lloyd and Piolo, yung mga ganung acting.”

Since his love team partner Sharlene San Pedro also turned 18 this month, Jairus said they look forward to facing changes together. “For sure merong magbabago dahil adult na kaming dalawa. I know it’s cliche na everybody’s saying na ine-enjoy lang namin yung company ng isa’t isa pero sa amin yun talaga yung totoo. We take things slow. Hindi namin minamadali ang mga bagay bagay so kung san man kami dalhin eh di dun kami. Basta kaming dalawa happy kami na very, very good friends kaming dalawa,” he admitted.

When asked what gift he gave Sharlene this year, Jairus said he wants to keep the specifics to themselves but shared why he was happy with his choice. “Lately kasi she’s really into fitness so I gave her something sporty from Nike. Hindi ko na sasabihin kung ano pero it’s something very sporty at magagamit niya talaga. Actually we’re both sporty,” he said.
