Currently busy with her soap My Dear Heart, Bela Padilla admitted it would be a dream come true for her to get the chance to play iconic Pinoy superhero Darna. “Honestly kung may audition mag-o-audition ako. Siyempre dream role yan ng lahat ng Filipina, honestly hindi lang ng artista. I’m sure yung mga tao nung nalaman nila na may bagong Darna, hindi lang artista yung naghahangad maging Darna I’m sure maraming tao,” she shared during her KB Skin Whitening contract signing last March 27 in Taguig city.
The 25-year-old actress said that even if she does not get the role, she hopes to see a fresh new talent step into the much coveted fantasy role. “I would like to see a new face for Darna na hindi sana artista. Parang na-e-excite din ako dun eh. Para baguhan, fresh take on Darna talaga. Pero kung may audition mauuna talaga ako (laughs). I think mauuna ako sa pila,” she admitted.
The Kapamilya actress said she is happy to resume shooting on her movie with Jericho Rosales Luck at First Sight. “Yes kakatapos lang namin mag-shoot last week. Nanuod ako ng rushes, sana tulungan niyo rin ako sa movie na yun kasi first time ko manuod ng hindi ako kinakabahan, yung mag-iimbita talaga ako ng mga tao. Na-adjust lang yung playdate kasi unfortunately may mga personal na nangyari kay Echo while we were shooting so we had to move the playdate kasi nag-stop shooting kami. Yung father niya unfortunately passed away while we were shooting. It’s going to be shown sa birthday ko sa May 3,” she said.
Out of all the movie projects she’s done, Bela said this is the most special one to her because it was her original concept. “Kasi first ko ito. Yung Camp Sawi parang si Neil (Arce) yung unang nag-isip nun, story niya talaga. Itong Luck at First Sight talaga yung akin. So kahit tinulungan niya akong i-develop yung story, concept ko yung story and some scenes kami yung nagsulat pero overall pinasulat namin sa mga kaibigan namin. Gusto ko talaga siya mag-work kasi parang anak mo eh, project mo siya,” she added.
